Sleeps with Dogs | Dog-Ma

My love for writing started with the first note passed in kindergarten. By high school I was an expert with the pen.  My love for animals began at the same time. While never allowed to have pets growing-up (something about my brother's allergies), I gravitated towards friends with dogs and also snuck a few in the house for brief visits.

As a selfless kid, I presented a solution to our petless home by offering to give my brother the necessary allergy shots in his hiney...so I (uh, I mean we) could have a dog. For some reason, my gracious offer was declined.

I am a seasoned news chick currently living in Atlanta with eight dogs (2 + 1 foster are mine), Security the cat and a farm-raised roommate. I'm a writer, dog enthusiast, Pit Bull advocate, info junkie, consumer of insane amounts of espresso, dig my family, nature and the outdoors, music, lover of all things Buffalo (New York, that is), modern-retro-vintage and everything in between.

So, what does this girl with a passion for writing and an obsession with dogs do? Combine the two loves and create Sleeps With Dogs.  

My dog-ma life started with Blu in 2002. Since then I’ve hung out my Sleeps With Dogs sign, where there is always a vacancy. Making up for the lost pet-time of my youth, I collect dogs like people collect salt & pepper shakers. 

As the Sleeps With Dogs dog-ma, I'm on a mission to help dogs everywhere. Daily I learn new tidbits about canines, myself and life. Welcome to my crazy world… hope you enjoy your stay.
